I had an appointment at Amorphous Salon on Saturday (they have a new store in the Eglinton and Allen Rd area. Looks nice from the outside). Two days before I called to ensure I can be out by 11:30am (my appointment was for 9am, I was getting a wash and comb coils done). Bianca, the natural stylist, said I should come in at 8:30am just to be sure. Not a problem.
I arrived at Amorphous Salon at 8:30 sharp. The salon was closed. I made a mental note about tipping. I waited 15 minutes, and started fuming. Not likely she'll get ANY tip now. I was now waiting more to see who this person was rather than wanting to keep the appointment. I was there until 9:10am (the salon supposedly opens at 9am). That's right, I was waiting 40 minutes OUTSIDE the salon. It's a good thing it was a beautiful day. NO-ONE SHOWED UP. I went back home absolutely FUMING. I called about 9:30...no-one answered. I called around 9:45...no-one answered. Finally, when I called at around 10:15, some-one answered.
I asked why no-one was there. The man said he thought Bianca was there earlier, he just came in. I asked to speak to Bianca. She comes on the phone and says "I'm sorry I was late, I just came in 15 minutes ago. I don't know what to say I'm sorry." So I said "That's it?" She responds "I don't know what to say, I'm sorry. What would you recommend?"
Instead of losing my temper, I said "I don't recommend anything." So she said ok. I hung up.
Needless to say, I WILL NOT EVER GO TO THIS SALON AGAIN. I'm debating whether or not to write a letter complaining, because I wonder what good would it do. If they had any concept of customer service (which they obviously do not) they would offer me a free wash, or at the least, a discounted service, but you couldn't PAY me to go to a salon that would so blatantly miss an appoinment without providing a good reason (...car accident, personal emergency, I don't need DETAILS, but an explanation would ease my mind a little).
Just thought I'd share...back to the hunt again for a natural salon in T.O. Looks like I'll have to try the stylist at Jazma and pay the price for prompt, professional, courteous service.
