I've been chemical free for five years. At the beginning of this year I decided to lock my hair. At first I tried hairlocking via Nature hair salon. They were very professional and everything was going well. Unfortunately, it was too expensive to get my hair re twisted every month ($78.00), and they wasn't sharing their trick of the trade. Needless to say after four months I had to find a better way of getting my hair done. At that rate I wouldn't be able to afford to continue getting my hair done. So I took the twist out and went back to braiding my hair.
Last month I began locking a hair again. This time around I read every book possible about hairlocking because I wanted to learn how to do this on my own. I'm using the comb coil style. So far all is well and I feel confident that I will be able to continue this on my own.
Is there anyone out there who is locking their hair without the help of a hair salon? How are you holding up?
