My loctician refuses to style my locs... |

Hello, Whenever I get my locs retwisted, my loctician refuses to style them. She claims they aren't long and enough and they're layered. I figure if I can style my hair a little bit they should have a lot more ideas. Their job is to please the customer not do what's convient to them. Does anyone have any ideas for me? my locks are thick and on my neck.

Sometime people would have all kinds of excuses not to do something because they have no idea how to do it. Your loctician probably doesn't know how to style your length hair and rather than tell you the truth she just refuses to do it. Maybe you should look for a new loctician

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A LOCTICIAN? THE ORIGIN OF DREADLOCKS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STYLE! THEY ARE SPIRITUAL IN ORIGIN AND HAVE BEEN ADOPTED AS POLITICAL STATEMENTS. NOWHERE IN THEIR HISTORY HAS ANYONE BEEN CONCERNED WITH STYLE UNTIL THIS NEW VANITY-BASED GENERATION WANTED TO LOCK UP SO THEIR HAIR COULD BE "LONG" - A MENTALITY THAT EQUATES LONG HAIR WITH A EUROPEAN STANDARD OF BEAUTY. This post is about a year old. I wish that I had gotten to you sooner. Why your loctitian refuses to style your locs is beyond me. Locs are just larger strands of hair, and can be styled to match the most chemically treated hair. If you're ever in Tennessee and need some advise about your locs holla back at:

for the record, a Loctitian is simply a person who styles, grooms or starts locs. Loc are a spiritual thing to some people, but sometimes people just want them for a style and not to try to be so deep or make a statement. So yes you are correct about the spiritual part, but you are equally as wrong when you say that this person don't need a loctitian.
SURE THEY DO. Why does everything have to be so deep. Some of my clients just like dreadlocks as a style, and could care less about there origin. (Hope you are more enlightened than offeded) |
