Hi, I just got Kinky Twists with synthetic hair. I only wanted them for this summer, May to August, for convenience since I am transitioning from relaxed hair (my last relaxer was Jan. 9th and I have about 2 inches of new growth with relaxed and gradually breaking ends). I'm a pretty active person, I like to swim and I jog religiously every morning, so I usually wash my hair AT LEAST once a week, more if plan to swim of course. But several young women have told me that I can't wash the twists...

Its all in how you take care of your hair. You need to use castor oil, or any other scalp moisturizer, on your scalp while your hair is braided. Minoval and temple balm will help the edges to grow fuller and thicker. When u take ur braids out, make sure the weave and ur hair arent dry and brittle b/c thats how ur hair will break off. Wet them a little so that you can loose up all that gel and/or spritz. Wash ur hair with a good shampoo and PLEASE deep condition it between braid styles. That...

I want to get microbraids put in for the summer time but i dont want to risk any breakage and/or hair dryness on my sensitive head. Plus why bother sitting for 10+ hours in pain when I can get a micro-braid look in just 2-3 hours? Has anyone ever tried this sew-in method before with micros? Anyone ever used any of the hair from africanbraids.biz?
