MSG

I went to the fish market yesterday, and asked the guy what's good to season fish. He suggested MSG. I have always heard that MSG is not good for you...causes headaches or something...so I looked at him like he was crazy for suggesting it. I thought that it was mainly found in chinese food, but a lot of chinese restaurants advertise "no MSG" in their food.

Anyone know more about MSG?

Have you noticed how white sugar smells. It really stinks. Pick up some in your hand or smell from the package. It smells like dog food or dirty socks or something. Maybe it is something used in the bleaching process that makes it stink.
I have started using turbinado sugar or raw sugar instead. Even though I don't need sugar period. I've noticed that some brown sugar smells like dead roaches or something.

MEAT & DIET

Where I'm from in N. Carolina a lot of older black folks believe that eating red meat (like rare steaks) will make your hair grow long and healthy. A friend once told me that white people's hair grows so long because centuries ago in the caveman era they were basically carnivores, so over time their hair changed genetically due to the excessive meat consumption. Does anyone know anything about this? Is eating a lot of red meat useful in hair growth?
